My ceramic work explores ornament as a language for memory, history, and personal mythology. Using bowls and lidded jars as surfaces for layered imagery, I create objects that feel both ancient and imagined. Drawing from Italian majolica, renaissance decoration, heraldry, and folk traditions, I use historical visual language to build new symbols.

The bowls use concentric circles and repeated borders to pull the viewer inward. The jars use stacked bands that wrap around the vessel and invite movement. Animals, flowers, figures, mystical beings, and geometric patterns suggest protection, strength, beauty, transformation, and memory.

Surface is central. Dark bands, gold accents, carved marks, speckled clay, and brushwork create tension between refinement and erosion. The open bowl becomes a stage, shield, map, or devotional space, while the closed jar suggests privacy and containment. Together, these forms act as vessels for ancestry, ritual, invention, and reimagined history.
